Burt Breakstone
Burt has been in the Toy Industry since 1953.
He is considered a true veteran of the industry and has first hand
experience of the dramatic changes that have occurred over the years.
After two years working for Craft
Master selling the first Color-By-Number Kits, Burt formed his
own toy sales company. Burt has operated a
showroom in the NY Toy Building for over 55 years and retains the title of the
longest continual tenant in the building.
Burt’s expertise is not only in sales.
He works with manufacturers in developing and promoting their products.
He as an excellent knowledge of television advertising.
His knowledge of the Halloween and seasonal business is unparalleled.
He has helped many small manufacturers become leaders in the industry.
In 2004, Burt formed a new
company, Baja Products.
Baja has had great initial success with their unique EZ
Crayon Doodler
6-Color Preschool Crayon.
Burt has been an officer of the Toy Knights of America for
many years and has been its president since 1997. He was one of the founding members of ULTRA (United League of
Toy Representatives Association). Burt
is a graduate of Brooklyn College.
Jeff Breakstone-Principal
Jeff virtually grew up in the toy business assisting his
father at Toy Fair and trade shows. After
graduating Case Western Reserve University in 1988 with a Bachelors degree in
Mechanical Engineering, Jeff began his sales career selling high-tech machine
tools.
In 1989, Jeff decided to join his father as a sales
representative. He currently covers
all phases of the Toy Industry. His
key accounts include KB Toys, eToys.com, Party City, Linens n' Things,
Community Distributors, Bed Bath & Beyond, BJ's Wholesale Club, Benny's, Namco,
Ocean State Jobbers and many
more. Jeff works closely with
his accounts and has consistently increased sales over the years.
Jeff is member of Toy Knights of America and
ULTRA.
Andrew Stern-Principal
After graduating from Tufts University with a bachelor’s
degree in Civil Engineering in 1987, Andy started his working career in the
engineering/construction industry. With
exposure to all aspects of the industry (including supervision, estimation, cost
control, logistic and contract administration) Andy developed a strong business
management foundation
In 1991 Andy joined Burt and Jeff and in 1994 Andy and Jeff
formed the current firm Breakstone-Stern Associates, Inc.
Andy’s primary accounts responsibilities include the
worldwide operation of Toys R US including the Toysrus.com as well as Pathmark, Spencer Gifts,
Wegman's, Kinney Drug and many more. He is also responsible
for the day-to-day operations and overall sales management of the firm.
Andy is a Vice President/Treasurer of ULTRA, a member of
the Toy Knights of America and a member of YEO (Young Entrepreneurs
Organization).
Most recently, in 2005 when the landmark International Toy Center at 200
Fifth Avenue was sold to a real estate developer, Andy became the President of
the 200 Fifth Avenue Tenants Association. He has been actively involved in
meetings to select a new location for the toy Industry permanent showrooms in
NY.
